catch up

well,

kali has been sick for a whole week now. she missed all week. today she seems back to normal though. last wednesday race missed school too and we went to rickys shop to get our halloween decor and have lunch. i let race miss school because it was a half day anyways and trent didnt want to go because his leg was completely swollen from his shots the day before. i totally have mixed feelings about shots. i never know what to do. doctors have studies to prove things and then those who dont believe in immunizations have studies to prove as well. studies, studies, there are just too many. so confusing. i figure with my boys i want them to be able to go on missions wherever they want/can.

friday my friend shay had her first baby girl. she was so excited. i will probably go see her today. they have two boys so this was a great surprise. i am so happy for her.

ricky went riding this morning so we are cleaning, laundry, and getting ready for the day. i have been working most of the morning though. when he returns who knows. we (the rogers) have a hard time sitting home on saturdays. we like to play too much. sundays we always sit so saturday is play day. i have a few errands to run so i will drag the family to do those with me.

Wow, okay lets start with the 18th.
that was my bday so i spent the day with ricky. we went to work for a bit while he got his guys all situated for the day with jobs. then we just hung out together. we got the car washed, ran a few more errands then went to lunch with his famiy at Gecko Grill, one of my favorites. one of our errands was going to costco to get race his bday present because his bday is the 19th.

19th-races bday!
Before school we had race open his bday present. we got him a Nintendo DS. this is the first "video game" in the house. Let me just say he loves it. when he got home from school that is all he wanted to do. We went out to dinner with my parents and then Mary and Bonnie came over along with my parents for cake and ice cream. he loved it. he got a mario bros. game from my parents. he has been playing it ever since.

20th-Kristens bday!
we have a lot of birthdays in september. today was a normal day. we did feed the missionaries so that was fun. the kids have fun when they are here. of course i dont want anyone to eat my cooking so we picked up mexican food for them.

21st-Grandma, Bonnie, and Jessica's bday
more birthdays! another normal day.

22nd-I went to my sisters in laws "sprinkle". she is having her third baby girl so we celebrated with a sprinkle instead of a shower. it was fun. we had breakfast at my sister in law summers house. it was super yummy and her house was way cute. then i was off to my cousin liz's shower. it is her first baby and she i having a boy. she is way excited. i am so happy for her. then i was home for the rest of the evening.

23rd-Ricky did a triathlon. this was a prep day for the half ironman he has on October 28th. He is excited for that one because it is a longer distance then he is used to so it will be fun. he did a great job today though. it was fun. after the half ironman he has to start preparing for the full in april. that is all that he is scheduled for. actually, i think race, ricky and steve (rickys dad) are doing one in December in Anthem. it will be a hard one for race because the distance is for 7-14 yr olds. we will see though.

24th-Kali started a fever on Saturday so she stayed home today. we were home, but I got a lot done with laundry and the babies laundry.

25th-TODAY! Lets start with Race waking up at 5:00 to play his nintendo. I came out and he had the lights on and the tv and he was playing his games. WHAT?? It was still dark outside. We will definitely talk about that one tonight. Kali stayed home again, she is just not feeling well. she had another fever. my mom came over so i could go into races classroom. then trent had his 4 yr check up today. he is 11 percentile for his weight and 18th percentile for his height. he is such a tiny guy. he got 4 shots and didnt even cry. he was brave. then we delivered a few shirt dropoffs then home until we went to pick up race. normal day from there.

holy cow it has been a while.

last sunday-
we went to church then headed out to gilbert because becky and brody were leaving back to texas. he is just so darn cute. we will miss him. we hung out there and it was grandparents day so race, kali, and trent wanted to get grandma and grandpa a little something so we took them flowers and chocolate.

monday-thursday-
these were pretty normal days. it has been so long i cant remember details. kali keeps saying she is having bad days at school so on Tuesday my mom and i went to lunch with race and kali at school. we picked up mcdonalds and met them in the cafeteria. when i walked in with kali two girls said, kali come sit by me. (that doesnt seem so bad). race took his lunch and went and sat with his friends. he could care less that i was there. he liked me coming to lunch, but wow it was his time to play with friends. we followed them out to the playground and watched them play. another girl came up to kali and asked her to play. kali always says everyone is mean, but that is not what i saw. she is silly. it was fun.

Friday & Saturday-i ran errands in the morning and then my mom came over to watch trent and tyson while i went to CKC. i went to beckys back stage show. it was fun. i had ricky meet me there to see becky in the scrapbooking world. he was amazed that people were so into her. women ask her for her autograph and pictures and he doesnt get it. he knows becky as becky. that was fun. then i got home and picked up all the kids and went to gilbert. race was invited to a bday party for kyle conway. i took them all to the bowling alley and we all had pizza and when the kids started to bowl i took off and came home. ricky was printing late that night but we got home around the same time. race stayed the night at kyles house. ricky went for a bike ride with his family on saturday morning. he picked up race on his way home. Jenn and CB and their four kids came over to hang out and have lunch and swim. it was so fun. the kids all had a blast. CB was quite the entertainer. he was playing so many games with the kids in the pool. they loved it. sunday, we hung out at home. tyson started a fever on friday. he wasnt feeling too well so we didnt go to church. race and trent started with some coughs too.



monday-
today i had a doc appt. it was shocking to realize that my next appt in 3 weeks i will be "checked". i will be at 36 weeks! What?? i cant believe it. this pregnancy has gone by so fast. we are getting more and more excited. as of today her name is Bri Louise Rogers. The kids still call her Bella. we will see though. we also like maci. after my appt i picked up trent from preschool early and took tyson to a doc appt because he is still not feeling well. i just wanted to get his ears checked. his ears looked fine, but he does have some sort of virus. he just isnt feeling well.

busy but fun

we have had a busy but fun week. wednesday was trents first day of preschool. he absolutely loved it. ricky and i were talking about how so far we have lucked out with our kids just wanting to go to school. does that mean they are so bored with me they are just too anxious to leave?? that is sad. anyways, trent loved it. he made friends with a boy name "rice", really it is Bryce. Trent was calling him Rice. While it was Trents first day of preschool it was my first day with just Tyson at home. I met my mother in law ellen and sister in laws holly and becky at PV mall. they had never been there so they wanted to check it out. they ended up being a little later then they thought so ricky was on his way to deliver shirts in the west valley so he stopped and picked up trent from school. trent loved it and so did ricky. trent always wants to go to work with dad.

thursday i went out to gilbert with trent and tyson to help ricky at work. he is just so swamped. he needs help organizing and cleaning up. i think i am going to try to go out there once a week to help keep up on it. he gets too busy and so everything gets to be everywhere. he hired another guy to start on monday. that will help. he will be a screen cleaner and stacker. two employees is scary but when there are only 24 hours in a day and you are busy the whole time and not getting things done you need help. it will be good, i hope.

friday, i went to the mall again with my mom because when i was there on wednesday there were quite a few sales at gymboree, and gap for the new baby girl we are having. last week i went through all my girl clothes and i dont have any 6-12 months clothes so i figured that 6-12 months will be next summer which is what is on sale right now at the stores. i got quite a bit yesterday. i got a few things for like $1.97, and $4.00. it was nice.
then i got trent from school and came home until 3:30 when i go get race and kali. we just hung out and played. we went and got KFC for dinner. my kids love that place. we get the family meal with mashed potatoes.

right now ricky drove to gilbert again to go riding with his brothers and dad then we will just hang out until a reception tonight for his cousin. i am going to try to find a babysitter for the reception and maybe ricky and i will go to dinner before.

long weekend

this was a very fun labor day weekend. we went to gilbert on friday and stayed the night at ellen and steves. it was jeffs last night so the whole family go together and then the boys went for their morning ride again on saturday. Then we had a big breakfast. Then kali was off to a bday party for savanna. after the party we came home. we did a few things around the house and just relaxed.
sunday- i had a meeting at church so ricky was in charge of bringing the kids all by himself. i had them bathed and their clothes layed out for when he got back from his meeting he could get them dressed. ricky was there 10 minutes early. good for him. he is such a good dad. then we went over to mary and bobbys for dinner. that was fun.
monday- we decided to try to do something fun with the kids since it was labor day. we took them to build a bear and then to michaels to get a new craft. race got a cat in the hat at build a bear and a pirate ship bird house to paint. kali got a ghost at build a bear and a castle bird house to paint. trent got a dog at build a bear and a model airplane for his craft. then we came home and the kids worked on their crafts. ricky put together the crib for the baby and did a few honey do's around the house. i did all the laundry. it was very productive day.
tuesday- today the kids went back to school. they were ready this week. they brought home their new homework routines. they have math and language arts (phonics) everyday. then i am supposed to read to kali 15 minutes everyday. fun stuff. i really do enjoy working with them and seeing their progress. races homework seems pretty intense. for math this week he has to memorize 10 math problems and their answers. 0+0, 1+1, 2+2, and so on. they want them to know these problems orally and writing. he knows almost all of them. he is a smarty. here is a funny from race: he told me that at school today he traded his crackers for someones salad. what kid gives up cheeze its for salad? race is so funny.
i went and got my hair done today. that is always fun. he gave me quite a bit layers. i like them and so does ricky so i guess it is a go.
ricky had a follow up appointment with his doctor today. evidently he has really high cholesterol. it is like 240 and it is supposed to be under 150. UGHH! I told him he cant leave me for 50 more years. that scares me, he is only 32 and he has high cholesterol. he is going to watch what he eats for 3 months and retest and hopefully it will make a difference. It is just crazy because he works out cardio everyday. i guess it is hereditary. i think he was pretty bummed about it.
tomorrow is trents first day of preschool. he is so excited.
