summer time

we just trying to enjoy the summer time.
Monday we went to gilbert with ricky. he dropped us off at his moms house while he went to work. it was fun to see everyone. it is really like a family party every day over there. There is at least 2 out of the 3 kids there with their kids. it is really fun. Then we went with my parents to Moon Valley Country Club to swim. They have a fun pool. There is a baby pool perfect for Tyson but it was freezing. weird huh?
yesterday we met my cousins at Peter Piper Pizza off the 202 and Dobson. It was so fun to see them and the kids. we missed a few people but it was still fun. that peter piper is fairly new, it was really nice. ricky took my nephew Sam to work with him. Sam is bored and has never seen our shop before. ricky had fun with him.
this morning rickys dad came over at 5 to go for a bike ride on the canal. rickys dad really likes the canal. evidently you get to go fast without worrying about cars. ricky always likes it when someone comes his way for a bike ride. he is going to try to go to gilbert on saturdays to ride with his brothers. he likes to ride with other people. Ironman November is quickly approaching. When we get back from our beach trip he has to really kick it in gear. He is not ready at all. He really has not even worked out since the last Ironman in April. yikes! he doesnt want to walk the last 8 miles again. hopefully there wont be any heat or wind so it should be much better.

here is tyson and averi laying on the couch this morning watching Elmo (Tysons favorite).

weekend update

on saturday ricky and i got an official babysitter (since my sister in law is not really official) and we went to the mall and a movie. it was so nice to be without kids for a little bit. we were trying to find ricky a swim suit but i think we might head to the nordstrom rack because we couldnt find one. he just happens to be the most popular size. he found a few that he liked but not his size. then we went to see the HULK. it was really good. My nephew and his girlfriend kiah came with us to the movies. then we came home. it was great.

sunday we went to bobby and marys for dinner. it was yummy.

yesterday i we went to swim team in the morning then we went out to gilbert with ricky. he dropped me off at his moms house to hang with jeff and becky, holly, and summer for a while. it was fun.

Kalis 1/2 Bday

So last year we had a 1/2 birthday party for Kali. Her birthday is in December so she seems to get left out. Ricky thought we should do it this year too. So at the last minute we decided to try to through something together. We have the Harkins movie summer tickets so we went to Gilbert to the movies and then off to Peter Piper for a little party. She loved it. It totally worked out so nice because Jeff and Becky got home from Texas on Wednesday night so we got to see them too. Yeah! they are home!! Brody is so stinking cute. It is fun they are home for good. YEAH!! now ricky and i need to move back out there and we will all be able to play. maybe in a year or so. anyways, peter piper was excellent. ricky did the party pack. i dont know if it is new but it seemed like a great deal. $8/kid. they each got pizza, drink, and 20 tokens and 100 tickets. kali got 500 tickets. they also set up the table with birthday paper and party hats. it turned out to be a real birthday. everyone was there but scott and jed. it was fun. ricky and i dont get to spend as much time with everyone as they all do. i will post some pics soon. i forgot my camera so i used heathers. i will post some pics when i get them from her.

thanks everyone for coming!

DAD

I just wanted to post how much we love our dad. Ricky is the best dad ever. He is so active in our lives and is always helping with the kids. the kids just love it when he walks through the door. tyson will ask for dad about 5 times a day. he is very popular in this house. as i am typing this tyson has asked, "wheres daddy?" two times. ricky is so good at loving me too. i love it. he is so affectionate. what would we do without our daddy? he is also such a good leader and example in our home. he is crafty, creative and a hard worker for our family. WE LOVE YOU!

also, as a side note, Ricky took the national registry test for EMT and he passed. YEAH. He is ready for hire. Does anyone want him?

WHAT?

Why dont I post more often? So much easier.

So to embellish:
Last Monday we at swim team my niece ashley called and wanted to come over. So on our way to Gilbert we picked up Ashley and Kyle and headed out to hang because we hadnt seen Steve and Ellen for like 2 weeks. That was fun. Ashley and Kyle ended up staying with us until Wednesday. It is always fun to see them. I dont hardly ever get to see them because they live too far. The kids love it when they come over. They swam and just hung out with the Wii.
On Thursday my sister in law calls to tell us she is having identical twins. She has a 10 month old boy right now. Her and my brother in law were sort of on the shock/freaking out side. They will do great. We are all hoping for girls for them. She is already about 12 weeks. we are excited for them. it will be weird to watch identical twins. how weird would that be if you knew someone that looked JUST like you??? weird but fun.
On Saturday all the Rogers adults were getting together for Fathers Day but since Ricky and I drive to Gilbert 4 times during the week we try not to drive out there for other things. So we decided to meet Steve and Ellen at the Rain Forest Cafe in Tempe for Father's Day. It was fun. Mary took Tyson so we could actually sit for lunch. Ellen got Ricky some hot dog grilling sticks for Father's Day. We got Steve some triathlon gear and black licorice. Then we went out to dinner with my side of the family adults only. We went to Pinnacle Peak Patio. It is one of my dads favorite places. It was really fun. We were also celebrating my dads birthday which is today the 17th. We got my dad a new wii game and remote with Nanci and Brett.
On Sunday it was Fathers day. We did breakfast in bed and a way nice church time. I got Ricky a gift certificate for a new swim suit. He needs one bad but he is so picky it is hard to shop for him. My parents came over for dinner and dessert.
Yesterday-Ricky started the no carb diet for the next couple of weeks. He and my sister in law are challenging each other to see who can lose the most weight by the 12th. We will see. There is a great prize in the end.
Here are some pics of the week:

update again

On Sunday Tyson bit his tongue pretty bad. he slipped coming out of the bath tub.

On Tuesday was the kids' first swim meet of the season. they did great. Races' form in freestyle is great. he is doing really well in the next age group. He is in the 7-8 group now which means he could be competing with a boy that is 8 almost nine. Kali is doing so much better than last year too. Her form is getting really good too. Trent chickened out at the first meet. It was an away meet so this pool had blocks and he thought he had to jump off the block. he got nervous when he was in line ready to go up. I think there was a bit of nervousness when he heard the action and the man on the loud speaker say "swimmer take their mark". BUT yesterday we had a swim meet at our home pool and he did great. He did the freestyle stroke with a huge smile on his face. he did chicken out on the backstroke though. he is not quite confident in that yet. one step at a time.

Wednesday we all went to Gilbert to work and then we had dinner with some of Rickys friends from high school. that was way fun to see them. ricky had a blast reminiscing.

friday averi had her 6 month check up. everything was great. she was 17lbs. 4 oz, (50th%), and 28 inches (90th%). she is tall and skinny.
then we took averi and tyson over to my sister in laws house and we took the older three to Kung Fu Panda. it was funny and cute. the kids liked it. it had a good message.

today we are chilling at home. way fun. we went swimming and grocery store and just hanging out. we feel like we havent done that in a long time. ricky did go for a bike ride this morning and this is what he saw when he was filling up his own water bottles. of course tyson did that and every time ricky goes for a bike ride tyson likes to "push" ricky out the door. the follows him out to the street and pushes his back wheel. it is cute.

2nd Family

Here are some pics that my sister in law took with my kids. This is my brother Bobby with Tyson and Averi. Then there is Sam and Averi and then Sams girlfriend and Averi. Sam will come over just to see Averi. He absolutely loves her. I dont know what I would do without all their help everyday.

This was the kids' last week in school. They had a water field day. They all wore team shirts and were able to have the other kids in their class write their names on them. The kids had so much fun.
Also, here is a pic of Trent playing the Mario Kart Wii. Then there is a pic of the kids with the chain they made. It was 40 days until the beach. They are just as excited as Ricky and I are.
