Tuesday-Trent and I went to meet his new teachers at Crossroads Preschool. They were super nice. Almost too nice. There is a part of me that thinks they talk way to "baby" to the kids, but I also think they are just really trying to make the kids excited to come to school. Trent will go on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-1. He is so excited. I picked the kids up from school and headed out to Gilbert. The boys had played hookie and all went to see Transformers. Then we had family night at Ellens. We bbq hotdogs and hamburgers and steve gave us a lesson on really getting our 3 month supply of money and food. it was a good lesson. Just for others' information when I saw we got together at Ellen and Steves it consists of about 16 adults and 13 kids. It is no small task. It is so much fun though. Ricky and his brothers could hang out all day every day and still have fun stuff to talk about or just quote movies. The girls have fun to chit chatting about what is new.
Wednesday-Ricky randomly took Trent to work with him. Trent was ready to go and he asked Ricky if he would take him so he did. It worked out because Gilbert had 1/2 day of school and Heather was having a b-day party for Haylis so Trent was able to go. I went to lunch with my mom, mary, shelli, and neita. shelli took some days off work so we decided to have a girls lunch out since she didnt have a time crunch to get back to work. it is always fun to get together and I only had tyson with me. even though he is the hardest to take anywhere. race had a party at his teacher from church's house. they went swimming and had a pizza party. kali went too. trent and i went to marys house to hang while waiting for ricky to drop off sam. ricky took sam with him home teaching to someones house from church.
Thursday-pretty normal morning. race and kali off to school. i had a meeting at church with my committee and we cleaned out the activities closet. that was a disaster. there was stuff in there from 1996. what?? i am so not a pack rat. I threw a bunch of stuff out.

weekend update

this past weekend was so much fun.
friday-i picked up the kids from school and hurried out to gilbert to see the chunckiest baby ever, my new nephew brody. he is 2 1/2 months old. they like in texas so this was the first time seeing him "live". The kids were so excited. he is so darn cute. baby raiden was there too. wow you forget how small they are. raiden is almost 2 weeks old. he is just too cute too. he is such a good baby. holly lucked out big time. we hung out at the rogers house and had spaghetti dinner. the boys went to watch a movie at someone elses house while us girls just hung out and chit chatted.
saturday-the boys woke up and went for their saturday morning bike ride. they went about 50 miles. they had a blast. the weather was great. it totally rained on them and they loved it. steve and ricky hanchett both fell. they got banged up pretty good. they still had fun though. we then took off to costco with jeff and becky. they had to get food for the baby blessing lunch and we got a cake for dessert and for trents bday bag party. when we got back it was time for the blessing. jeff did an excellent job. it was very special. then we hung out with beckys family for awhile and then after they left we had a little birthday for trent. he LOVED everything. he got a sleeping bag with flashlight and whistle, 2 animals that grow in water, a robot, a carrying case full of hotwheels. he had so much fun. ricky and i then came home. we took our tv back to costco. it was a floor model and it had started wigging out a little bit so we wanted to return it. we got a new one. it is a little smaller but has a better picture and it was about $500 cheaper! Yeah, i love credit at costco.
sunday-ricky had a meeting, then we were off to church. race was pretending he had a tummy ache. we left church about 10 minutes early but right when we got home he all of a sudden felt great. weird how that works. i think they were pretty tired from staying up late friday night.
monday-back to school. race again didnt want to go because he wanted to run errands with me. he wanted me to wait for him to get home then go run errands. i am glad he likes to be with the famiy so much. ricky ended up coming home around 11:00. he got his printer all set up for the day so he was good to go. we went to exchange our cox box then off to costco to spend our money. i needed a new all in one printer. we got one of those, a desk organizer set, groceries, movies, a present for kali for either her bday or christmas. it was very nice running errands with ricky on a weekday. trent and tyson loved having dad there too. ricky took the kids swimming while i made dinner. last night was fhe and watch one of the new movies together. then ricky went running.
here is to a good day. we are going to meet trents new teachers and see his classroom. he is counting down for when he gets to go to school.

babies!

This weekend is going to be so much fun. i am picking up the kids after school and we are heading to gilbert. Jeff and becky come in today with their baby brody. he is 2 1/2 months and we havent seen him yet. we are so excited to see him. AND i have only seen holly and rickys baby Raiden for about 10 minutes so we are so excited to him too. both of them are blessing their babies on Sat at ellen and steves house. jeff and becky really didnt want to bless brody in texas because there was no family there, and then holly ricky figured if everyone was together then they shoud do it too while jeff was here. race, kali and trent are going to stay the night at scott and kristens. they have had a chain for about 9 days now counting down for their sleepover. kali is going to go to savannas bday party tonight at 5. ricky, tyson and me are going to sleep at ellen and steve because we figured we would be out there late and then go right back out tomorrow for the blessings. it will be so fun to relax and hang with jeff and becky. i will send pics of the weekend and babies on sunday.

my kali girl

kali came home yesterday from school saying everyone was mean to her. i dont know what to do. she said that in preschool. i worry so much about her. she really has never had any friends. in our last house we lived in a cul-de-sac but it was al boys. she has a ton of girl cousins, but they all live in gilbert. i feel bad. i dont think everyone was really mean to her i just think she has a hard time making friends. she is sort of on the bossy side too. we said a prayer on our way to school so hopefully she will feel better and have a good day. i told her to smile and have fun. i am so worried about her. last night she was crying because she doesnt want to have a baby cut out of her stomach. i have no idea where that came from. i told her she has to get married then she will have a baby. she said she doesnt want the doctors to cut it out. i told her she doesnt have to get it cut out then she said but then how do i be a mommy. i want to be a mommy. what? why is a 5 year old stressing out about having a baby. i told her it doesnt hurt.
ricky and i think that she is having a hard time adjusting to all day Kindergarten. I think she is really tired by the end of the day. i hope she has a better day today.

Bragging!

I just wanted to do a little bragging today. I picked up Race from school and his teacher came to the car to put him. She leaned in the car to tell me that Race is so smart and she loves having him in her class. She says that he is all about participation and is a great helper. That made me feel so good. You can tell she really likes him.

Update

so last weekend was fun. friday night we just hung out at home and rented movies. mary came by and took trent and tyson home with her for a few minutes. then after an hour i went to pick them up. my brother took them swimming and so tyson did not have a diaper on. mary kept watching him to make sure he didnt pee anywhere. she never saw him pee. after i picked them up mary called me and said her cox box was not working. she moved it around to check the plugs and a liquid came out of it. IT WAS PEE! Tyson peeed in the cable box. YUCK! It was pretty comical except everyone had recordings on the box. Sorry!
so Saturday we randomly decided to drive up the cabin for a last quick trip before school started. my brother bobby wanted to go so he talked us into going. we just hung out outside which was so nice. it rained on us too. i love going there in the summer because the kids and me actually get to hang outside. we went to dinner at this pizza restaurant and it started raining. it was so fun. we sat outside. then we went back to the cabin and watched Wild Hogs. It was pretty funny. then saturday we just hung around and sat outside on the swing. it was very relaxing.
Monday was the kids' first day of school. They are going Madison Traditional Academy. Ricky and I dropped them off. We took them in their classroom so Ricky could see the rooms and meet their teachers. The kids both sat at their desks' and started working on their projects. They were so excited. After we dropped them off the PTA had bagels and fruit for all the parents. That was a nice treat. When I picked up the kids they were so excited to tell me about their day. Race played a trick on me and told me he had a time out for hitting someone. He was just joking. His teacher told me he was a great helper. Kali had a great day too. Race and Kali both bought their lunch the first day. They said it was good. They were very excited for day 2 which was today. It was a weird day for me. I lost two of my kiddos. It was really different. I kept thinking, "I dont have to pick up my kids until 3:30 and it is FREE AND they are learning". It is just so weird to me. They are both gone ALL day. I missed them.
I dropped them off in the drive up area today. I am assuming they made it to class. Today Kali got a Character Counts Coupon for being responsible. She said she was cleaning. She is such a good girl. They had fun again. When we got home today Race asked me what we are going to do today. I said nothing. We are going to make dinner and relax. He said, "mom now that I am going to school all day, I am not going to be able to hang out with you anymore." It made me cry. Everyday so far Race wants to know exactly what I did while he was at school. He doesnt want to miss out on anything.

Trent's 4th Bday

Two days ago Rickys sister had her baby! His name is Raiden Lee Hanchett. Yesterday I had a doc appt. I had to do my glucose test and get my rogam shot. I am not sure if that is how you spell it or not, but it is the shot when you have RH- blood type. I did lose 2 lbs though. Not sure how that happened.
Yesterday was Trents bday. We didnt know what to do since most of our friends are in school already and weekends seem so crazy lately. We decided to just hang as a family all day. We went and saw the baby at the hospital who is so stinking cute. He made me really excited to have another baby girl. Then we took the kids to Rain Forest Cafe for lunch. They loved it. Tyson did pretty well in his high chair because about every 3 minutes some sort of animals begin to move and make noise. Race, Kali and Trent loved it. We hadnt been there since Disneyland awhile ago. I dont even think they remembered it. Then we went bowling. That was fun. At first I thought it was going to be smoky but when we got there it was very relaxing. It was nice and cold and evidently you are not allowed to smoke in bowling alleys anymore. The kids had a blast. It was fun. Then we came home and relaxed awhile, had dinner and then Mary, Sam, and Bonnie came over for some cake and ice cream. It was a very low key day with the family and it was really nice. Trent got a couple dirt bikes, a watch, coloring book, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, and money. It was a good day.

weekend!

I had a huge surprise on Friday. My sister in law Mary called around 4:00 and said I am coming to get ALL your kids. You and Ricky can go to a movie or do whatever you want. She also said they could all sleepover! Her daughter was sleeping somewhere else, my brother went to my parents' cabin, and her boys are in high school so they were going out with their friends. The normal person would say, "wow, i have the whole night to myself.". Not Mary. She is constantly doing for others. Little did she know that I totally needed that. My kids are so ready for school and they have been at my feet everyday driving me a little on the crazy side. Our original plans were to watch a movie with the kids and do popcorn and all that fun stuff. the kids were still way excited to go to aunt marys. so ricky and i went to rubios and a movie. then we ran a few errands for work then we went a picked up tyson. i didnt want him to have to sleep there. it was such a nice break. for some reason ricky and i havent been doing date nights every week like we used to. we havent had one since his bday in july and then before that who knows. this was way fun.
i went and picked up the kids around 8 the next morning. we came home and cleaned up a little and then ran some more errands with ricky. then we came home and went swimming. i got tyson a new swim suit. he is a little fish. tyson just wants to put his face right in. he has absoulutely no fear of the water. it scares me. he wants you to just let him go. he doesnt like it when you are holding him. he did all right with the new swim suit. he will need more practice because he rolls over in it.
Saturday night was Rickys grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. we went over to his aunts and uncles for a little party. all the kids did a layout for a scrapbook. it was such a cute idea. they loved it. they also put together one of those digital picture frames. everyone emailed over pics to add to it. it was cute. grandma and grandpa were so excited. they love being with all the family.
yesterday was church and clean up time. my parents are out of town so i get their cleaning lady today but that meant i had to clean up for her to come. i dont want her taking the time to pick up. i guess my house is just a disaster all the time. things dont really ever stay in their spots even though i try.
most kids started school today in phoenix. my kids dont start until next monday. we got our school supplies this last weekend. race and kali are going to attend Madison Traditional Academy this year. This is a more traditional school. Their desks are in rows instead of clusters, they do spalding spelling, the parents are heavily involved and they wear uniforms. i was really excited for the uniforms, but then when i took them shopping last thursday i was bummed i wasnt buying cute clothes for kali. she was bummed too. she wanted to pick out all these different clothes and we had to stick with red, white or navy. that is pretty boring for a girl. we switched it up with skirts and dressess and shorts, but i was bummed. i hope she is okay once she gets to school and sees that everyone has on the same clothes.
anyways, this is our last week of getting ready for school. i think we are almost there. i need to find more clothes for race. they cant wear denim. that one is killing me.

sick:(

Today is the first day back to semi-normal around here. I have been sick since Friday afternoon. I had the flu bug of some sort. We sat around all weekend. Ricky took the kids to see Underdog on Saturday afternoon. They liked it. Sunday we sat around all day too. Ricky wasnt feeling well either but fortunately it hasnt develped any further. Yesterday, Fozzy was acting weird so my nice sister-in-law took him to the vet for me. of course they did the whole x-ray thing and there was nothing. he kept wimpering when we touched his back so I though maybe he broke something like a rib. i guess he is fine now though. mary ended up taking the kids back to her house and they stayed there until like 4:45. ALL day. she is too nice. Now it is back to work, laundry, and house stuff. Kali has a kindergarten assessment today at 1:30. ashely and bonnie are going to come over and babysit tyson and trent. race wants to come so he can see his new school. i am excited to get out of the house.

update/weekend

two days ago i went through all my kiddos' clothes. there are two kids per closet so you have to keep up. i do like to clean out the closets before school. it is much better now. i went throught the toy room the other day and got rid of quite a bit. what is left of the toys is now divided between the two bedrooms so the baby can have her own room. much better.

yesterday was holly my sister-in-law's shower. it was very nice. they went all out on the food and decor. her baby's room is pirate themed so they used that for the shower as well. it turned out way cute. she scored on gifts. she got a lot of good stuff. i cant wait to see her babys room. it will be so cute. the sisters did so much work for the shower. good job girls!

today we all went with my mom to moon valley country club to swim. we go there about 2 times a summer. it is fun. they have a beach front baby pool so tyson had a hay day. he was in heaven. tyson sure thinks he can swim. he has absolutely no fear of the water. he puts his face in and tries to blow bubbles. he is getting better. he doesnt want you to hold him. he wants to be left alone.

tonight is my nephews birthday party. that will be fun and super casual. it is at my sister-in-law mary's house.

tomorrow will be one of rickys' 1st days off being a saturday. that will be fun. i am sure he will go on a long bike ride tomorrow morning but then family time. tomorrow night the ward is going to the temple visitor center to watch the new movie about joseph smith. my mom is going to watch tyson because he wont sit for 2 minutes. after the movie we are going to oregon stop pizza. that will be fun.

sunday a relaxing day at home! Yeah!!
