ricky did awesome last saturday in his tour de tucson race. it was a 109 mile bike ride. he loved it. he said it was a blast. his dad had some shoe problems but they got it worked out. it was funny because ricky took his cell phone on the race and i talked to him a few times while he was riding. he had so much fun.
last sunday was our primary program at church. race, kali and trent all had their parts memorized. they did such a great job. i was so proud of them. race knew all the songs too. it was so cute to watch them.
we had birthday bags at rickys moms house sunday night. it was grandpa mannings, scotts, and rockwells birthdays. it was fun. Jeff and Becky came in town from texas for thanksgiving. Brody is just so cute. it is so fun to see all the babies. they are so fun. there were 4 babies born since june of this year. it is fun. i just cant imagine how crazy the house will be when they are all running around with all the other kids.
well, trent decided he wanted his training wheels off. pretty good for a boy who just turned 4 in august. he just jumped on and started riding. he did such a good job. he now wants to do a triathlon. he is our child that is sooo ready to do one. he loves them.
averi had her 2 week appt on monday. evidently i am feeding her too much because she was up to 8.3. i guess my doc only wanted her to be to her birth weight of 6.15. she was a little over that. :). she is a good baby. she has been fussy the last couple evenings but nothing like race was so we can handle it.
the kids are out of school today for thanksgiving break. tomorrow for thanksgiving we are going to the rogers house for dinner and probably hanging out there all day. i love to go throught the newspaper to see all the ads for the BIG weekend. i do like to go out in the crazy mad rush but i am not sure ricky will want all the kids on his own. we will see.

week

the week has been pretty normal around here. averi is just so darn cute. she is still sleeping a lot. i think things will get tougher when she has more wake time. she is pretty good at night. 2-3 hours. she likes to be close to me though. i have caused a problem but i like it. she eats and goes right back to sleep. she lost her belly button and she got her first bath last night. she didnt like it too well. she cried.

tyson has been a stinker. he is constantly pulling mine or rickys finger to show us stuff. half the time he doesnt know where he even wants to go. he is starting to talk more and more. he says sucker, mom, dad, papa, grandma, look, car, ball, dog, go, quack, uh oh, night night, hot, cold, and I know there is more I just cant think right now. I wish he was talking. he gets frustrated because he knows what he wants but i dont always know. he is a good boy.

ricky took off today to tucson with his parents to do the tour de tucson bike ride. it is a 110 mile bike. he is doing tomorrow so they are staying the night tonight and coming home tomorrow. i hope i will survive the night with tyson who calls for ricky in the middle of the night to come sleep with him and averi. i think i am going to just start with tyson in my bed already and the rest of the kids on the floor.

catch up

So last Friday we decided to head up to the cabin for the weekend. it was so much fun. we figured we are not supposed to take averi out too much in public so that was a good place to entertain the kids. the kids had so much fun. ricky got on the roof with a blower and cleaned up all the pine needles and leaves that were everywhere. he did 16 bags just in part of the back yard. it was a lot of work. i forgot my camera so there are no pics. the kids had a blast doing papas chores for him. it was quite cute watching all the kids with rakes and shovels together. it was very relaxing. my niece and nephew are here today ashley and kyle. i dont get to see them much. the kids love it when they come over. we gave averi her first sponge bath and then headed to taco bell and the park. ricky met us at the park and had lunch. then ricky took off to go to a 2 hour ride. he hasnt done any really long rides since the half. he was missing it. when he gets home i am going to run to the grocery store for the week. kali went home with mary to get a hair cut. she wants it long but wow it needs a good few inches taken off. we will see what mary does. i am excited to see.

I forgot to mention that trent did a fun run at his preschool. he loved it. he is so into rickys triathlons. it was finally his big day. he did a good job. he loves his t-shirt and water bottle and trophy he received. he was all smiles.

the last few days have been pretty good. i cant complain. averi is just so easy. she is such a good girl. i cant imagine life without her already. she is such a party of our family.

i took her to the doc and she gained an ounce, go averi! everything was great.

Averi Louise Rogers

We are home from the hospital. Here is a quick recap.

Halloween night was so fun at the Rogers house. My mind was a little preoccupied knowing that the next day was Averi's day but it was still fun. I missed out on yummy chili and chips and salsa though. i was nervous knowing i was delivering the next day to eat anything spicy if you know what i mean. the kids had a blast.

Thursday was a long day. i had to wait unitl 2 to go into my doctors for an appt. ricky did go to work for awhile but then came home and we ran a few last minute errands, grocery store and a few work errands.

Then we took trent and tyson over to marys house while we headed to the doc. he finally saw him around 3 then he tried to stir things up at the office. he did. he called the hospital and told them i was coming in. we headed on over there. my water did not break until later. we got to the hospital and they checked me in. i was having contractions but they were far apart and not very strong. but they were consistent. with doc nelson stiring things up i was bleeding so i think that is why they took me in. it was pretty comical when ricky and i walked in and knew exactly where to go. when we got to the nurses station we knew one of them from having tyson. that is pretty embarrassing if you ask me. they got me settled in my room and my mom, steve and ellen showed up to wait forever. they were going to break my water but the anetheologist was going into a c-section so we waited for him to come out. we were afraid that if they broke my water things could happen quicker than wanted to before they he was out. well, he came in and gave me my epidural. then we waited for the other doc to come in and break my water but they checked me and my water had already broke on its own. we thought things might pick up now but i was still a 4. so after awhile we started pitosin and that got things going. i began to dilate slowly but surely. i finally got to a 10 and my doctor came in and i pused for one contraction and sweet averi was here. it was fairly easy i would have to say. she was only 6 lbs. 15 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. she was so stinking cute. i think she is a mix between trent and kali. i think she will be blonde with blue eyes but we will see. tyson is our only blue eyed but i think she might join his group. she has been a good baby since. she eats, sleeps, and poops. she is so aware. she will totally look around like she is checking things out. she missed my moms bday and grandpa mannings 80th by 1 hour and 13 minutes.
the kids just love her. kali is definitely a good helper. tyson is a bit obsessed so i hope that wears off soon. he touches prodes, and wants to hold and love her ALL the time.
averi is such a blessing. i already cant imagine life without her. she is well loved.
