week update

this weekend was very nice. Traci, Rickys cousin, babysat for us on Friday. That was so fun. That was so nice of her. She is too cute and the kids had a blast. Ricky and I went to a movie and dinner. fun fun! Then on Saturday my sister in law Mary, and my niece and her two friends came over to dye Kalis hair. Ricky had gone to work so it was just us girls. Kali has been asking for mary to color her hair. she couldnt decide what color but she ended up going with pink. i let her put in underneath in the back. she wanted it all over in stripes. i told her her school would not allow it. then we put some in Averis hair. we put it right where her pony tail is on top of her head. Averis is not as dark as Kalis but it is cute. it is semi permanent so it will wash out the more i wash her hair. Then Saturday night we went to Rickys moms house for a graduation party for his brother Jeff. He is officially a chiropractor. Yeah for Jeff. Good Job!

Trents Bday

Last Saturday was Trents bday. We decided to go up to the cabin on Friday after school. It was a blast. the weather was perfect. and i really mean perfect. saturday for trents number 5 we made a yummy breakfast, then he opened presents, then we went to flagstaff to pick a craft then we grabbed some subway on the way back. when we got back ricky wanted to go for a long bike ride on lake murray road. that is a really pretty long road that he could do one of his long bike rides on. he said as he was riding he got a little teary eyed because on one side of him was 6ft tall sunflowers and on the other was a huge meadow and huge rolling clouds coming in over him. he said it was picture perfect. after ricky got back to the cabin we made trents bday cake and watched Enchanted. Then we had dinner and cake. I think Trent had a great time. How can you not in 75 degree weather. It was fantastic.

On Sunday when we got back Bobby and Mary had us over for dinner for Trents bday. Here are some pics. They are too nice. They all got something for Trent.

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade

Here are my kiddos ready for their first days of school. Trent in Kinder, Kali in 1st and Race going into 2nd.

It was a weird day. I cried on Sunday with the thought of Trent leaving me ALL day. He is my big helper with Tyson and Averi and he is just so fun to be around.

Rickys mom drove in from gilbert to see them off for their first day. I forgot to get a pic of her with them. that was so nice of her to do that. she is so thoughtful.

When we took them to school they were a bit nervous. Trent the least. I thought Kali would do great but she was sad for Ricky and I to go. She didnt cry but I could tell she was nervous . She did great though.

Then on my way home after dropping them off I couldnt stop smiling. I went to the car wash my mom let me have her cleaning lady that day so I just felt like I was getting back on top of things. My house might just stay clean for more than 5 minutes.

Then when I picked them up they only said fun and nice things about their teachers. I am so glad. I couldnt imagine them coming home upset or them not liking their teacher. That would be hard.

here are some pics from before we went to the cabin. ashley and emily stole my camera when they were babysitting and did a photo shoot of themselves. then there are some of the kids swimming ( i was home for those pics).

so this past sunday i was called to be the 2nd counselor in primary. i sort of needed something because i was on the activity chair committee and we never do anything. i have been 2nd counselor before so it will be okay. no big deal. this primary as like 50 kids. my old primary had 130 or so. so i think i can do it.

after church i took the kids up to my parents cabin. they have been dying to go up there and we havent made it up there all summer. this was their last week before school starts on monday. ricky was just too busy to come.
we had a blast. my sister nanci and her kids came up too. there were 10 kids and 3 adults. my nephew and niece from my brother came up with my sister. it was fun. we rode the rhino, went to the park, went on a hike which tyson and averi only made it half way, played the wii, ate, watched tv, went to flagstaff and cleaned. my kids just absolutely love the cabin. they never get sick of it. thank you mom for having all of us up there.

then on thursday was meet the teacher. race and kali got the teachers that i requested. yeah. races' teacher is tough. she will teach him a lot. his teacher last year just loved him and his sillyness but his teacher this year just might not. it is her second year teaching but she is very tough which is good. i hesitated putting race in there but i really want him to learn. he is a good learner he will do well. kali got a sweet lady. she is so nice and cute. she is a phonics guru which will be awesome for kali. she is a hugger which i love for younger kids. kali will love her. kali knows her from last year because kalis kinder class used to go into her new teachers 3rd grade class to work with the big kids. trent has a new teacher that i have no idea about. my friend that is on the PTO and goes to my church put trent in there with her son. so trent is excited to know someone in his class already. he actually knows 2 kids. his teacher seemed really nice. trent sat in his desk and was ready to go.

baby birds

so a year and a half ago we bought the kids some finches. ricky bought a boy and a girl and a nest. they had babies. then we were tired of the birds and thought ellen and steve would love to have them. so we gave them the birds. well they were sick of them my kids keep asking for a pet so we brought them back home. we thought it would be fun to have babies again. it is a really neat process and experience for the kids. they love it. well the other day our four eggs hatched. here are some photos. you cant really tell but there are four babies.

my nephew sam who is 18 today comes over at least three-four times a week to play with the kids. sometimes they play the wii but other times they swim. here are some photos of bonnie and sam in the pool with the kids doing pyramids.

Kids' Triathlon

So last year Race did his first Triathlon. It was in Tempe and it is for children with obesity. This year Race, Kali and Trent all did the same one. Our cousins Kylie and Haylie did it as well this year. Scott ran the race with trent. i think it was a bit much for him. He needed some encouragement. THANKS SCOTT! It was tricky having three in the race. Trent was the very first swimmer so when he was done and on his bike Race was just starting his swim. Kali was in the middle. It was tricky trying to run back and forth catching everyone at all the transitions. There were no timing chips this year it was all for fun. The kids had a blast. Trent was in the Mesa Tribune the day after. It was a cute short article. Of course there were a mob of RED 26 supporting. Thank you everyone. My kids loved seeing everyone there for them.
