first trip alone

our first trip alone was awesome. we had so much fun. as we sat in the airport we couldnt help but smile and laugh that we were all alone for 3 days. when we landed in LA i had a message from the school nurse that kali was sick with a fever. by the time i got a hold of someone Tori, the wonderful babysitter had already gone to pick her up. Go Tori! she had the first experience of the crazy life. she had to load up tyson and averi and get to the school then when she got there averi and tyson were asleep. she woke up tyson and made him walk and she carried in averi. poor tori. she was a good sport. so ricky and i got on our super shuttle and went to our hotel. way nice hotel. it was the westin long beach. we sort of thought since we never get away we would go to a nicer place that was directly across from our convention we were going too so that would also save on a car rental. it was really nice. we went to lunch and went to the convention center. it was so relaxing being on our own schedule doing what we wanted when we wanted. it was awesome. the convention was good. we found some cool new stuff. ricky ooohed and awwwed at some fancy equipment. we met some cool people. then we went to a movie. :) we love the movies. it is brain dead time and very relaxing. then we went to dinner and went back to the hotel to lay in bed and watch TV. so fun! then saturday morning i slept dead until 8. it was great! then we went to the gym at the hotel and it was packed. then we showered and went to breakfast and the convention. then we went to the aquarium, which was so busy because there was a special event going on, so we went to lunch and a movie. then we went to dinner and another movie. i know 3 movies in 24 hours. we really do love the movies and they were right there by the convention so very easy. i was sad saturday because trent made his first basket at basketball. i couldnt even talk to him on the phone. i started crying when he told me. this was a big deal because trent has been trying to make a shot all season. he can hardly get it to the rim but he is getting better and better. i dont like missing things like that. Then sunday morning we went to breakfast and went back to the hotel to get ready for our trip home. we were excited to see the kids. Tori did great. i am sure she doesnt want to come over anytime soon. i think she went to bed each night at like 8:30. she was pooped. the kids missed us. tyson probably the most. kali said she was crying to sleep the other night because she missed us. race and trent and averi were excited too. we got lots of hugs and kisses. home sweet home. there is nothing like home!
